There are several ways of encouraging other websites to create links to your site; some are to create original and useful content that other websites want to link, Adding your blog to the online directories, getting links from relevant blogs, asking other bloggers to share links, commenting on blogs and participate in forums.
Those are few common mistakes made by novice bloggers. Try to avoid them and get listed in search engines. Blogging is one of the best time pass if you take it seriously. I'm not a professional blogger. I do not work on my blog day and night but mostly I write articles at night or weekends. I'm trying to keep my blog alive by adding at-least 5-6 posts per week. I have good number of visitors and followers they also brings me few bucks which also encourages me to blog more. I used to get 3-4 guest posts per week which I schedule publish date.
