How to install a PHP-Nuke Theme

To install a PHP-Nuke theme you need to do the following steps:

First of all you should unpack the template package using the instructions from the "Unzipping Template Package" section.

There will be a folder named "xxxx" (a four digit number). This is the PHP-Nuke theme folder. Copy this folder to "/nuke/html/theme", where nuke is the folder to which PHP-Nuke is installed.

The next step is to select a theme from the list of themes: "Your Account > Themes".

If you want to use it as the default theme for your site, then move to "Administration > Preferences" and set the Default theme to the theme you bought. Notice that you must be a member of the administrators to change the default theme.

Setting up Webmail in PHP Nuke

Q: I bought a PHP Nuke theme which has a webmail icon at the top. I loaded this entire theme onto my site but when I click "webmail", it gives me an error "Sorry....such file doesn't exist". It appears that it is trying to find the file: "http://www.my_domain.com/modules.php?name=Webmail". How can I set this option up for the theme?

A: It seems that the Webmail module is inactive in your phpnuke powered website. You should do the following to activate this module. Go to the admin panel of your phpnuke engine ("admin.php"). Select the Modules section. Find the Webmail module in the modules list. Click "Activate" option in the functions column. If you can't find the Webmail module in the modules list you should install it into the Modules folder.

PHP-Nuke and Adobe Photoshop screenshots differences

The "phpnuke" theme is simply a skin for phpnuke.  It changes the view of the header, footer, side blocks and central blocks, where your news is located. You can never get an appearance similar to the previews, except in the case when the Photoshop design was especially created for phpnuke. It's this way because phpnuke has its own design and arrangement of elements. The designer is free to choose the templates layout of the elements, but the phpnuke coder can't change the layout of the elements in phpnuke. I didn't get the html version of the PHP Nuke theme

To install a PHP-Nuke theme you need to have an SQL database server, Apache Web server and PHP version 4.x installed and running on your server.

Do the following steps:

• Unzip the archive of the template that you downloaded
• There will be a folder named 1234 or something similar. This is the PHP-Nuke theme.
• Copy this folder to "/nuke/html/themes" where nuke is the folder to which PHP-Nuke is installed.

That's all. Select a theme from the list of themes ("Your Account > Themes").
