Add Pastel Colours to a Photo


Add pastel colours to a photo.


image 1 1. Open the image for editing.

image 2 2. Duplicate the current layer (Ctrl+J) and change the blending mode of the new layer to Difference.

image 3 3. On the new layer, add a Neon Glow filter (Filter> Artistic> Neon Glow) and use the default settings.

image 4 4. Use the Apply Image tool (Image> Apply Image) to apply the following properties:

Layer: Merged
Channel: RGB
Invert: Unchecked
Blending: Normal
Opacity: 100%


image 5 5. Change the blending mode of the current layer to Overlay.

Pastel Tutorial: Final Result 6. Invert (Ctrl+I) the current layer. Rollover the image in this step to see the original image before this Photoshop technique was applied.
