Dream Effect

1. Grab a picture of someone. I'm using Kelly Clarkson.

image 1

2. Once you have the picture open in Photoshop, click Selection > Select all.

3. Copy the picture before starting anything.

4. Now you're going to add blur. Apply Gaussian Blur (Adjust > Blur > gaussian Blur). Set the radius to about 5 or 6. the higher the number, the more the effect shows.

5. After you apply blur, paste your before image as a new layer (Ctrl+V, then Ctrl+Shift+[).

6. To your right, there should be a layers box. Right click on "Raster 1" and click properties. This is where you can have fun and just mess around. Under blend mode, change it to " Overlay". You don't always have to apply the blend as overlay. In my picture of Kelly Clarkson, I applied the "Screen" blend. You can change the blend mode to whatever you fancy.
