1. What we are going to do? I'm going to show u how to improve your photos in easy way adding to it a "dream land" effect. This looks good with almost all kind of photography but best effect I'll get using a forest/grass/tree photo.
2. What do I need? Of course photoshop (i'm using PS7) and photo u want to improve. I used some photo from this site.
3. Lets do it! Open you photo in ps and press Ctrl + J twice to duplicate layer.
Next, on Layer 1 copy 2:
use Filter > Brush Strokes > Accented Edged with this settings:
Then set blending mode of Layer 1 copy 2 on Overlay. You image should look like this:
It's to dark. Click on Layer 1 copy and press Ctrl + U. Use this settings (or similar):
The image looks now like this:
Now, back to Layer 1 copy 2 use Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur.
Set Radius to 3,5 and press ok.
Next press Ctrl + U and use this settings:
Now, we are almost there....
4. Final touches That is the hardest part of this tut. I can't tell u what exactly you have to do, because it all depends of image u used. But I'll give u some tips what u can do. If the image is to bright (mine was) use Ctrl + U to scale the brightness down. To add some colors to the picture use Ctrl + B. U can also work with Ctrl + U and Ctrl + B on Layer 1 copy.
This part of tut depends on your knowledge and experience. But I hope u won't have any troubles
5. Finished! And you're done! My final result looks like this:
