
Another fantasy tutorial
In this tutorial you will learn how to combine different stock photos, brushes, adjust colors as well as retouch and make up a girl to create a fantastic winter portrait.
Resources:
1. Open the winter background. Cut the model and move into main document.

2. Open the blonde hair stock, drag it into document, duplicate it and place one under and another above the girl layer. Hide the hair layer above the girl. Choose the under one, add layer mask to eraser the face like that:
3. Make a new layer, use clone tool to fill the forehead of the girl.

4. Turn on the hair layer above the girl. Add layer mask to clear the face. This step is to make the hair thicker and more natural.

5. Hide the hair layer that is on the top, then create a new layer above the girl layer, use pen tool to make some parts along her shoulders then hit Ctrl+Enter to make selections, then fill it with color f9bb91. Set it to Multipy 100% and then set drop shadow with default settings. We have:

6. Create a new layer, use snowflake brushes to make some "dress buttons" then apply Drop shadow:


7. Come back to dress layer, i will adjust color to be easier to change in future. Hit Ctrl+U, choose settings:

8. Turn on another hair layer, merge all layers except background. Press Ctrl+M to adjust curves:



9. Open the tiara psd file. Resize and move into main document:

Add layer mask to eraser unecessary parts then apply drop shadow:


Use warp tool to transform it a bit:
I use curves to change the color:




10. New layer, use magic brush with settings:


Then paint on the tiara:

11. New layer, use foliage brushes, number 640, 3with 445 px paint on the side of her eyes:

Add layer mask to eraser like the pic below:

Duplicate it, apply Flip horizontal then move to another eyes. Lower opacity of two these layers to 70%.

12. Create a new layer, set to overlay:

Use dodge and burn tool to make up the eyes, darken the edges and lighten the light blobs :

13. New layer again, use hard brush, 6 px , white color with different opacity to trace along the eyelids:

14. New layer with the same way above, use burn tool to darken the edges and dodge to lighten the nose bridge.
15. Now we will retouch the lips. I've thought that her lips looks not really good and i use Turbulence tool from Liquify after stamping visible all layers. I move lips a bit down to soften her look.
After that her lips looks blurrer so i make a new layer, use Sharpen tool to make lips look more visible ( remember check Sample All Layers on property bar).

16. New selective color layer: Reds: 51, 16, -100, 0 Cyans: 100, 100, -100, 0 Blues: -28, -75, 36,0 Magentas: -53, -100, 0, 56

17. Hit Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E to merge all layers. Duplicate it. Press Ctrl+Alt+ ( or Ctrl+Shift+Alt+~) to load the highlight of the pic:

Then press Ctrl+L to adjust levels:

Add layer mask, use soft black brush, opacity 60%, flow 60% to eraser the face, neck, then use brush with opacity 100%, flow 100% for eyes and lips.

18. New layer, use soft white brush to paint on the hair, set it to Soft light 100%.

19. Stamp visible again. Make a selection around model face, set feather = 30 then choose Inverse:
Apply Gassian blur with 1 px, then add layer mask, use soft black brush, opacity 33%, flow 42% to clear the bottom of her face, neck and hair:
20. New fill color, 7ebafc and set to soft light 100%. Add layer mask to clear the face:

21. New color, i use soft brush with color e887d9 paint on her lips with soft light mode 100%:

22. New layer, i use burn tool to make the nose look clearer and more visible:

23. New layer, use soft white brush to spot on the pic to make snow effect:
24. Stamp visible , i use Topaz sharpen to sharpen the pic. Final result:
