Wooden Woman, Using Quick Mask

Here we'll create a wooden woman.

1. Get two images, here i use a picture of a woman and a picture of wood.

2. Bring both of the images in photoshop, open a pretty big new transparent file.

Move both of the images in that file. Be sure that both images are RGB mode, if not go to image>mode>RGB. The wood on another layer and the picture of the wood in another. Transform the pictures so as to be the same size. Bring the wood on top of the woman. Click the eye button to make the wood layer invisible.

3. Double click the quick mask, it's a little button on the left/bottom side, see above image. Select, the "selected areas". Then draw over the face of the woman, where you want the wood to appear.

See below

4. Exit quick mask by click the button next to the quick mask

5. Go to layer>add layer mask>reveal as selection

6. Set Blending Mode overlay.

If there are some places you would like to clean up, select the wood mask and clean by using the brush: white puts more wooden areas, black color cleans up/appears areas.

7. Play a bit with the opacity of the woman layer
