Creating An Animation Using Brushes And Layers In Illustrator And Exporting To Image Ready


1 Select a brush from one of the various brush libraries available from Illustrator 9 or make your own. I chose the star pattern and changed the color.

2 Make sure the stars are selected then open up Edit>Expand Appearance.

3 Delete the blank <path> layer at the bottom. You've just deleted that Path. Select the first layer, the original one and select Release to Layers.

4 Export to Photoshop. Check Write Nested Layers.

5 Open up Image Ready. Open up the file. You should see separate layers for each star.

6 In Image Ready, click on the arrow and select Make Frames From Layers.

7 You should see each star on it's separate frame. Click the arrow button to watch it play.
